Welcome to the Finer English Free School

The Finer English Free School Foundation e.V. was set up in December 2001 to create a school where those less fortunate than ourselves can learn to read and write.

Literacy is the basis of all education. Those who cannot read and write are deprived of opportunities and are defenceless against exploitation. Literacy opens the doors of learning, whether through books, newspapers or the internet, and liberates those trapped in the silence of illiteracy.

It is an absurd waste of human potential when we allow people to remain illiterate.

All governments have a responsibility to address this issue. Unfortunately, many governments, especially the most prosperous who wield most power on the United Nations Security Council, choose to spend more on war than on education.
