"My name is Kathryn Doxtad and I joined the Finer English Team in September 2010.  I grew up in San José, California and went to university at California State University in Long Beach. I majored in business and after working in the corporate world for a little while I realized that it was not exactly what I wanted to spend my life doing. At the time I was volunteering at the International Rescue Committee teaching English to refugees new to the US and I really enjoyed it. So I decided to go back to school and receive my TESOL certificate from Transworld School in San Francisco, and now, here I am in Kassel!

I love teaching, each day has been a new adventure for me here in Kassel.  The Finer English Team has been a great help in getting me settled into my new home and also providing me with support as I start this stage of my career in teaching. I like Finer English because I can really tailor my lessons to my students’ needs and wants while having a team to discuss ideas with.

My hobbies include hiking, reading, yoga, and anything artistic. Kassel scenery provides me with inspiration for new paintings and art projects. Just recently I got the idea to paint the beautiful fall leaves.  I love all the parks and in my two months here I have been up to Hercules twice and have enjoyed running around the Aue Park near downtown."
