"When I started working for Finer
English in the year 2000, I had just returned from Australia, where I had
worked as a translator and English teacher. I discovered my passion for teaching
“by accident” when, as part of a scholarship, I was asked to work as a teaching
assistant at the University of Florida. After one year among palm trees and
alligators, I moved a little further north to Athens, Georgia, where I completed
my Master’s Degree in 1999. Living and working in the Southern United States
was wonderful, but my journey was not complete yet. I moved to Sydney and
enjoyed this beautiful city as well as the friendliness and hospitality for
which the Aussies are rightly famous. Despite Sydney’s beauty, I finally got
homesick after having lived abroad for more than five years. So I returned
home to Kassel, where I was born, and worked for Finer English as German and
English teacher and as a translator.
Now I live in Frankfurt and sometimes miss not being able to chat with the other teachers on a regular basis but I’m still part of the team and come to Kassel as often as possible. I am glad to be a part of Finer English not only because it is a pleasure to work with motivated students but also because it is a link to my hometown, which is still very important to me."
